Michael H. Jin

Dr. Michael Jin is a senior staff scientist whose research interests broadly include new concepts in materials science for power and energy applications. His current research focuses on textile energy harvesting and storage, safe battery technologies, free-space optical power beaming, and power-over-fiber technology for various applications. His current work also includes developing thermal insulating materials and porous materials for extreme environments. Dr. Jin serves on the program committee of the Organic Photonic Materials and Devices symposium of the annual SPIE Photonics West Conference and on the editorial board of two journals, Frontiers in Energy Research and Materials Science in Semiconductor Processing. Additional areas of expertise include semiconductors, photovoltaic materials and devices, and materials characterization.
