Dr. Julie Gleason is a senior staff scientist and molecular biologist. She currently leads tasks that employ synthetic biology to build living sensors in multiple organisms ranging from microbes to plants. She is also involved in projects that seek to understand how resistance arises, working to define the evolutionary arms race between bacteria and the phages that infect them. Her areas of expertise include biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, and molecular and synthetic biology.
