Dr. David A. Handelman is a senior staff roboticist and project manager. His research focuses on bio-inspired robot skill acquisition, dexterous manipulation, and adaptive human–robot teaming based on the integration of declarative and reflexive machine knowledge and learning. His areas of expertise include brain–computer interfaces, dexterous manipulation, ethical decision-making, human–artificial intelligence and human–machine teaming and interaction, intelligent systems, live-virtual-constructive environments, machine perception, and motion planning.
