Christine D. Piatko

Dr. Christine D. Piatko is a principal staff scientist and project manager whose recent work focuses on artificial intelligence (AI) for scientific discovery in chemistry and materials science. She has over 25 years of experience in computer science research and development, including applications of machine learning, human language technologies, and information visualization to challenges in defense, intelligence, and cyber analysis. Dr. Piatko was instrumental in establishing the Johns Hopkins Human Language Technology Center of Excellence, a Department of Defense-funded research center. She holds a research faculty appointment with the Johns Hopkins University Department of Computer Science. Additional areas of expertise include computational materials science, human–AI teaming, and intelligent systems.
