Johns Hopkins APL Researchers Take Steps to Rapidly Characterize Emerging Biothreats
Responding to a human infection with highly pathogenic bird flu, a collaboration between APL and the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge rapidly turned patient samples into data, informing community response in near real time. APL leads similar efforts around the world to sequence and characterize pathogens as they emerge, with the goal of preventing new pandemics.
