BioDr. Yuna Wong is a wargaming expert in the National Security Analysis Department at APL, leading a team of analysts in the development of advanced analytical tools and techniques to address pressing national security challenges, ranging from multipolar nuclear deterrence to digital wargaming. As an adjunct professor at the Georgetown University Walsh School of Foreign Service, Dr. Wong teaches courses on artificial intelligence and national security. She is also the founder and president of the Women’s Wargaming Network, a professional organization dedicated to promoting the role of women in wargaming and national security analysis. Before joining the Laboratory, Dr. Wong held senior positions at the Institute for Defense Analyses, RAND Corporation, and the Marine Corps Combat Development Command, where she applied her expertise in wargaming, policy analysis, and operations research to inform strategic decision-making. She holds a B.S. in political science and economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an M.A. in political science from Columbia University, and a Ph.D. in policy analysis from the Pardee RAND Graduate School, where her dissertation focused on agent-based modeling and noncombatants in U.S. urban operations.
