Victor J. Leon

Dr. Victor J. Leon is a senior scientist who works at the intersection of engineering, science, and artificial intelligence in APL’s Research and Exploratory Development Department. His technical expertise is in the combination and integration of physical and engineering models, machine learning, statistics, signal processing, physical experiments, and optimization to solve critical engineering and scientific challenges. His recent work has been in the domains of materials design and discovery, manufacturing (additive and subtractive), AI-accelerated surrogate modeling, and biological genetic interactions. Particular areas of engineering expertise include fluid dynamics, heat and mass transfer, phase change, microfluidics, and micro/nano engineering.
