Bio
BioDr. Sophie Musset is a solar physicist in the Solar and Space Physics Group within APL’s Space Exploration Sector. Her primary research focus is on understanding the origin of solar energetic particles and her key contributions lie in the analysis of solar particle signatures in X-rays and radio waves, aiming to unravel the processes of particle acceleration and propagation in solar flares. Additionally, Dr. Musset plays an active role in the development and use of space instruments, serving as co-investigator for the STIX and RPW experiments on the Solar Orbiter mission, as well as for the FOXSI-4 sounding rocket experiment. She is also dedicated to the development of community science and leads the Solar Jet Hunter project on the Zooniverse platform, which investigates the role of small-scale solar ejections in the heliosphere.
