BioMimi Cuddy-Mierzwa serves as special projects adviser for the Air and Missile Defense Sector (AMDS) of the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), advising leaders on strategic initiatives. She was the operations executive of AMDS until July 2026, and during her 17-year tenure in that role, sector operations doubled in scope and expanded from a business, finance, and infrastructure management focus to include vital classified information technology resources. As a member of the AMDS Executive Leadership Team, she helped shape and execute strategy, ensuring the availability of the resources, facilities, and operational capabilities needed to advance critical national security missions. Concurrently for nearly two decades, she provided key contributions as a valued member of the Laboratory’s executive-level Operations Forum, leading and contributing to strategic initiatives that enhanced operations across the enterprise. Ms. Cuddy-Mierzwa has deep experience leading an infrastructure operations organization, overseeing business management, financial planning and reporting, facilities, security, logistics, and classified information technology supporting thousands of staff members and hundreds of programs. Before joining APL, Ms. Cuddy-Mierzwa supported nonprofit organizations, large for-profit corporations, and Department of War contractors. She has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Daemen University.
