BioMimi Cuddy-Mierzwa is the operations executive for the Air and Missile Defense Sector (AMDS) of the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). She leads the sector’s infrastructure operations organization, overseeing business management, financial planning and reporting, facilities, security, logistics, and classified information technology supporting more than 1,400 staff and over 175 programs. As a member of the AMDS Executive Leadership Team, she helps shape and execute sector strategy, ensuring the availability of the resources, facilities, and operational capabilities needed to advance critical national security missions. Ms. Cuddy-Mierzwa has been instrumental in the planning, modernization, and expansion of AMDS technical facilities and classified computing environments, including initiatives supporting high-performance computing, artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities, secure collaboration environments, and distributed operations. She also serves in several Laboratory-wide leadership roles and contributes to long-range campus planning, enterprise technology initiatives, and institutional transformation efforts. Before joining APL, Ms. Cuddy-Mierzwa supported nonprofit organizations, large for-profit corporations, and Department of War contractors. She has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Daemen University.
