Bio
BioDr. Carlos Braga is a senior scientist working on heliophysics/solar-terrestrial physics. He specializes in coronal mass ejections, particularly their propagation and evolution in the corona and heliosphere, their geoeffectiveness, and space weather disturbances. He has experience on observations from coronagraphs and heliospheric imagers from the Parker Solar Probe, Solar Orbiter, Solar Terrestrial Relations Observatory (STEREO), and Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) missions. Dr. Braga also has experience with galactic cosmic rays observed by muon detectors and neutron monitors, their modulation in the inner heliosphere by coronal mass ejections, and their atmospheric modulation. He is principal investigator and co-investigator on multiple NASA grants as well as co-investigator for the Sun Earth Connection Coronal and Heliospheric Investigation (SECCHI) instrument on the STEREO mission. He has authored and co-authored various peer-reviewed articles, presented results at professional conferences, and served as a reviewer on peer-reviewed journals and as a panelist on proposal reviews.
