Head, Force Projection
Lisa A. Blodgett is the head of the Force Projection Sector at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), where she is responsible for over 1,600 staff and the strategic planning, execution, and performance of approximately $600 million in annual funding for programs that span the sea control, strategic deterrence, and precision strike mission space. Prior to her current appointment, Ms. Blodgett served as executive for the Sea Control Mission Area. Under her leadership, the mission area developed significant new capabilities in the submarine warfare, anti-submarine warfare, and littoral warfare domains. Ms. Blodgett is co-chair of the Submarine Technology Symposium, is an Advisory Council member for the National Defense Industrial Association Undersea Warfare Division, and is on the board of directors of the Naval Submarine League. She is a member of the U.S. Strategic Command Strategic Advisory Group and chairs the Nuclear Command Control and Communications Task Force. She served on the Defense Science Board Task Force for Next-Generation Unmanned Undersea Systems. She is a graduate of MIT Seminar XXI and Harvard Kennedy School’s Senior Executives in National and International Security program. Ms. Blodgett earned a B.S. in electrical engineering from Purdue University and both an M.S. in electrical and computer engineering and an M.S. in technical management from Johns Hopkins University.
