Leonard Moss

Leonard Moss Jr. is the chief security officer, Insider Threat Program senior official, and Security Services Department (SECD) head at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). Prior to joining APL, he served as senior vice president for corporate security, facilities, and real estate and chief Security officer at DynCorp International (DI). While at DI, he implemented industry best practices that drove the company toward operational excellence. He previously held security leadership roles and developed exceptional security programs at numerous Fortune 500 companies and the U.S. military. Mr. Moss has been a pivotal and active leader of the national security industry. Currently he is serving a three year term on the Industrial Security Working Group board of directors, he served two terms as president of NCMS, the Society of Industrial Security Professionals. He is a member of numerous leading professional security organizations, including the FFRDC/UARC Security Executive Council, NDIA/AIA Joint Industrial Security Committee, and ASIS International. He earned a dual B.S. in public administration and criminal justice from National University as well as an M.B.A. from California State University, and he holds numerous professional certifications, including Industrial Security Professional, Certified Protection Professional, and Certified in Homeland Security.
