Dr. Morgan M. Trexler is the program manager for Science of Extreme and Multifunctional Materials in APL’s Research and Exploratory Development Mission Area. She leads a diverse and expansive portfolio of research projects. Dr. Trexler is a Hopkins Extreme Materials Institute (HEMI) Fellow, serves on the Maryland Science Center’s Science Council, and was a recipient of the Maryland Science Center’s 2014 Young Engineer Award and APL’s 2010 Invention of the Year Award. Her areas of expertise include additive manufacturing, blast and ballistic testing and mitigation, fiber synthesis, high-rate materials characterization, materials synthesis, mechanical and thermal characterization, and metallurgy.
