Collin McClain

Collin McClain is an associate staff engineer whose research focuses on extreme environments. Most of his efforts involve developing and additively manufacturing ceramics for high-temperature applications, ranging from infrared and radio frequency apertures to ultrahigh-temperature ceramic coatings. At the other end of the extreme, his additional research activities target the Arctic, with applications including novel structural materials and emergency energy sources. Much of his materials research is enabled by his experience with nanomaterials, dielectric properties, and inorganic synthesis.
