Dr. Reed F. Young is the program manager for Robotics and Autonomy in APL’s Research and Exploratory Development Mission Area. This program includes research in physical-domain artificial intelligence; autonomous unmanned systems; dexterous manipulation; complex aerobatic control; the trust, test, and evaluation of autonomy; and human–machine interaction. Dr. Young is also an industry board member of North Carolina A&T’s Testing, Evaluation, and Control of Heterogeneous Large-scale Systems of Autonomous Vehicles. He has extensive experience and expertise in the research, development, test, and evaluation of military systems.
