Bio
BioDr. Luke Osborn is a senior staff engineer whose research focuses on tactile sensing and sensory stimulation through neural interfaces. His recent work has included creating sensory perceptions through brain–machine and peripheral interfaces, exploring the influence of restored and augmented sensory perception on sensorimotor function, and developing artificial electronic skin for tactile sensing in robotic systems, which provides bioinspired noninvasive nerve stimulation to restore tactile sensation to individuals with arm amputation. His areas of expertise include sensory stimulation, neural interfacing, tactile sensing, upper limb prostheses, and sensorimotor rehabilitation.
