The discipline of physical oceanography studies ocean feature s and dynamics\, from turbulence up to global circulation patterns. The pr oblem of how the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation might change in a warming climate will be the technical focus of this seminar. This iss ue will be put in the context of oceanographic observations\, particularly ship-based observations. Some experiences of ship-based science will be s hared\, ending with advice for institutions and individuals to best suppor t gender-diverse scientists at sea.
