Ms. Lesa McComas is the Supervisor of the Asymmetric Warfare Analysis section within the National Security Analysis Department (NSAD) at JHU/APL. She supports APL's DoD clients including JFCOM, CENTCOM, JIEDDO, OPNAV, OSD, and AWG in a variety of qualitative and quantitative analytic efforts including technology assessments, scenario and CONOPS development, and planning and facilitation of Warfare Analysis Exercises (WALEXes). One of the Navy's first female Surface Warfare Officers, she also earned a Navy subspecialty in Manpower, Personnel, and Training. Prior to joining APL, she worked as a technical trainer and training manager at Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) and at Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) as the Contractor Lead for the Joint Logistics Planning Enhancements Joint Test and Evaluation (JLOG/PE JT&E) at Aberdeen Proving Ground.
Ms. McComas has a B.A. in Biology from Franklin & Marshall College and an M.S. in Operations Research from the Naval Postgraduate School with an emphasis in Human Factors Engineering. In 1998, she co-authored
Naval Officer's Guide
(11th edition), published by Naval Institute Press and is currently at work on the 12th edition.
