Highlights of the 8th International Conference on Reliable Software Technologies (Ada-Europe 2003). Ada-Europe is an international organization, set up to promote the use of Ada. It aims to spread the use and the knowledge of Ada and to promote its introduction into academic and research establishments. Above all, Ada-Europe intends to represent European interests in Ada and Ada-related matters. It was established according to Belgian Law and currently has member organizations of: Ada-Belgium, Ada-Denmark, Ada-Deutschland, Ada-France, Ada-Spain, Ada in Sweden, Ada in Switzerland and Ada UK.

The best-known of Ada-Europe's activities is its annual conference, the International Conference on Reliable Software Technologies. Also known as Ada-Europe, this conference provides an international forum for researchers, developers and users of reliable software technologies. Presentations and discussions cover applied and theoretical work currently conducted to support the development and maintenance of software systems.

The conference contained much relevant information on the software engineering of real-time and distributed systems useful to those building such systems. The highlights on Tuesday night will compress a week's worth of knowledge into a valuable packet so you can take advantage of the technical work presented at the conference without your actually attending the conference. Of particular interest to you will be a summary of the WG9 plans to evolve the Ada standard, ISO/IEC 8652: The Ada Programming Language, which many people are calling Ada 2005.
