Abstract: FAA DO-178B details, then a short overview of Aonix tool support.
The FAA's DO-178B is the commercial avionics safety critical standard. It defines safety levels of criticality for commercial avionics systems and the processes to follow to try and ensure that these systems are safe. It is one of the strictest safety critical standards in use in industry today. It is also referenced as a baseline by many other safety critical standards in other industries such as high speed rail, nuclear shutdown systems, etc. This talk will present an overview of the standard, the safety levels it defines, provide details on the processes it requires, required testing, etc. The talk will conclude with a brief overview of Aonix products designed to meet this standards requirements as an off-the-shelf product, following the Ravenscar profile.
