Frank Beard graduated in 1986 from the University of Houston with a BS degree in Computer Science. From 1986 to 1989, he worked as a contractor for the Crew and Thermal Systems Division (Space Shuttle) of NASA's Johnson Space Center doing real-time data acquisitions systems written in Ada on DEC VAX hardware. From 1989 to 1993, he worked as a contractor for the International Space Station at NASA's Johnson Space Center doing near real-time on-board distributed data storage and retrieval using Ada on real-time LYNX OS. From 1993 to present, he is working as a contractor to the Navy doing Naval messaging systems written in Ada on HP-UX BLS and Windows NT.
