The Virtual Integration Environment (VIE) is a simplified, platform-independent communication interface to the MPL. It offers an improved three-dimensional MPL simulation environment.

The VIE was created as a development platform for rapid prototyping, evaluation, and deployment of neural signal processing algorithms.
