Will APL consider starting a new company to transfer a technology?
Yes. Annually, the Lab starts 1-2 new companies to commercialize APL technology. 

Does APL invest in these start-ups?
No. The Lab may take a minority equity share as a partial payment for the license to the technology but will look to outside sources for seed and venture funding.
