APL's Offices of Technology Transfer and Patent Counsel hosted a "Patents & Pizza" Luncheon on October 4, 2005.
Guest speaker, Michael Steele, Lieutenant Governor of Maryland, presented staff members with awards for issued patents.


Welcomed by APL Director R. Roca, Steele spoke about the importance of technology and innovation to the state's economic development.

APL honors its staff inventors who have been granted patents for their work by awarding plaques for achievement at a continuing lunch-time series. Steele presented awards to staff members who shared 14 patent awards.
The Lt. Governor is pictured with APL staffers R. Wallis (L) and S. Chen (R) who were granted a patent for a "High-Efficiency Solid State Power Amplifier."
