The truck carrying the Comet Nucleus Tour (CONTOUR) spacecraft pulls away from the Kershner Space Building at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, Maryland — where CONTOUR was designed and built — starting the 20-mile trip to NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. At Goddard, CONTOUR will undergo testing in preparation for its July 1 launch from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida.
