Precollege Career Fair

Maryland MESA partners with Career Communications Group to sponsor a two-day Precollege Career Fair for elementary, middle, and high school students. This annual event is held in conjunction with the Black Engineer of the Year Conference at the Baltimore Convention Center. During this event, students participate in math, science, engineering, and career-oriented workshops while networking with professionals, colleges, and organizations. Please contact the Maryland MESA Office at 443-778-5382 for more information.

National Society of Black Engineers Conference

Each year, Maryland MESA supports the attendance of Maryland high school students at the National NSBE Precollege-Initiative Conference. At this conference, students have the opportunity to attend technical presentations, participate in interactive workshops, and interact with professionals and college representatives. Attending students are nominated and selected by MESA staff.

National MESA Competition

Each year, Maryland MESA supports the attendance of eight middle and high school students at the National MESA Competition. Students demonstrate their knowledge and compete in science-, math-, and engineering-related events while presenting oral presentations, technical papers, and academic displays. Students also have the opportunity to interact and share ideas with MESA students from around the country.

Advisors Summer Workshop

The Advisor’s workshop is scheduled for Thursday, August 4, 2011, at JHU/APL. Registration is required. Please call 443-778-5382 for more information.

Fall 2010 Saturday Scholars' Program

The Saturday Scholars’ Program is designed to give Maryland MESA students an opportunity to explore various areas of interest in mathematics, science, engineering, and technology in a fun, engaging academic environment. Each session includes hands-on STEM experiments, research, competitions, and much, much more.

Summer Programs

Maryland MESA partners with local universities and industry organizations to offer summer programs at different locations throughout the state, in which students participate in hands-on activities and research. Included in the curriculums are workshops and classes in science and mathematics, engineering, computer programming, communication and study skills, and career planning. These programs also include guest speakers and field trips to science- and engineering-related sites.
