Program Areas

AMD programs intend to deliver unique value to each sponsor by devising innovative and affordable solutions to their most important problems. That is, they focus on making critical contributions to the critical challenges in AMD facing the warfighters and the DoD program offices charged with developing and transitioning AMD systems for service use. Science and Technology projects focus on the application and successful transition of critical technologies for the next generation of AMD systems.

The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and the US Navy are sponsors of most of these projects. An increased amount of tasking has come from Army, Air Force, Joint Service and DoD agency program offices.
