Hispanic Awareness Club The Hispanic Awareness Club (HAC) is a growing group of APL staff members who share a common purpose: to communicate to our fellow staff members a sense of the breadth and significance of Hispanic contributions to our society. We are a diverse group whose ancestry can be traced to a number of Hispanic countries as well as the United States and Puerto Rico. To carry out our mission, the club sponsors various activities. Through our efforts, we also aim to raise the level of awareness of the general staff toward Hispanic cultures and values. A part of this broad objective is accomplished by the HAC when it serves as the focal point for planning and coordinating the observance of National Hispanic Heritage Month at APL. Another critical activity for club members is our coordinated efforts with the Human Resources and Services Department (HRSD) to support the recruitment and retention of highly qualified Hispanics to enhance the Laboratory's mission of service to the nation. |
