JHU/APL Norfolk Office
The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL) is a not-for-profit, DoD-Chartered University Affiliated Research Center (UARC) for engineering, research and development. Established during World War II, the Laboratory made significant contributions to the war effort by developing the radar proximity fuse for use in anti-aircraft gunnery. Today, with its main campus located in Laurel, Maryland, APL employs over 4000 men & women. Revenue for FY06 topped $700M (three-quarters of which was National Security related-work). |
