APL Huntsville Field Office

APL's Huntsville Field Office supports the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) mission to develop, test and deploy an integrated ballistic missile defense system. The Field Office staff coordinates local and on-site support to MDA Directorates, and provides reach-back to the full range of Laboratory capabilities at the main campus in Laurel, MD.

huntsvjlle officeThe Field Office is located near MDA's facilities in Cummings Research Park. The 3200 sq-ft facility accommodates up to 14 resident employees. It has a classified conference facility with seating for up to 50 people, and it is available for hosting either APL- or sponsor-led meetings.

The office facilities are fully integrated with the Laboratory's main facilities in Maryland. APL’s onsite staff are working with MDA counterparts to meet their technical needs, and ensuring sponsors have access to the full spectrum of APL capabilities. The Huntsville Field Office is an enterprise facility, serving as a Laboratory-wide resource available to any APL group requiring its services.

APL's extensive experience with developing and fielding air and missile defense systems spans over five decades. Through its expertise in research, development, systems integration and engineering, testing and evaluation of current and future air and missile defense systems and technologies, APL is helping MDA solve some of its most critical challenges in ballistic missile defense.
