LATEST TASS OBSERVATIONS

 October 20, 1998

The JHU/APL Tass Observatory collected data last night. Data collection began around 7:30pm.

Although the weather was forcasted to be clear, clouds set in around 10:14pm. (based on post processing the data files). The following data files were processed with  dark current collected three days earlier (dark current for the October 20 run will be collected at 8:00am on October 21.) The three data files listed as raw were collected at 8:13pm, and were converted first to BMP files using Real Sky, and then to JPEG using Paint Shop Pro. The processed files were  operated on by three analysis programs: Dark (Dark Current Processing), Flat (Flat Field Processing) and Star (Star list extraction). The three star lists were generated from the Star program.

The following is a composite of all three sensors:

           CCD0                       CCD1                         CCD2

Based on the data generated by the STAR program, the three data files are located:

Data File             RA             Dec.              Dec.
30T1108.509      304.0348   1.6597          -1.2609
31T1108.509      319.7268   1.8341          -1.1214
32T1108.509      334.3381   1.3727          -1.5782

The lines on the image are aircraft from BWI.
