LATEST TASS OBSERVATIONS

 October 30, 1998

I attempted to use the Linux data collection software to collect a complete data run. The benefit included being able to view the data as soon as it was collected. The FITS to jpeg conversion stream is still not up to sufficient quality for real time display. However, the data files were very nice quality. A problem was encountered with the STAR software. Despite the clearness o f the images, the STAR program was not able to locate the file against the star catalog. I thought the problem might be due to the recent time change, however the RA setting was increased to 25 degrees, with no success.  I am putting two sets of data files on this page. The first is the raw FITS files from the data collection. The second is the dark current files collected during the morning run (on October 31, 1998). If you spot the problem, please e-mail your ideas to me.
