APL Staff Step Up in Honor of National Blood Donor Month
January is National Blood Donor Month, and the Red Cross bloodmobile is visiting APL for 4 days this month, on January 12-14 and 19, to allow staff to donate. Donating blood is a Laboratory tradition that dates back to APL’s earliest days, when staff members gave blood during World War II. The Red Cross began making regular visits to APL’s Howard County campus in 1964, and today, APL qualifies for its own on-site collection station several times a year because of its large number of donors.
Yoga Classes Now Available
APL’s Fitness Club is offering ongoing Yoga and Gentle Yoga classes to staff members interested in reducing stress while improving their flexibility, strength, and balance. Classes start in mid-January and are held in the fitness facility.

Recreational Club Fair
Do you have an interest in cycling, fossils, golf, astronomy, or volleyball? APL has a recreational club for each of these interests, and more! Laboratory staff are encouraged to come by the Recreational Club Fair on Tuesday, February 16, to learn about club activities, talk with club representatives, or join one or more clubs!
